PokerStars has recently announced the first dates of the North American Poker Tour. Two of the four confirmed dates have been announced with the first being held at the Venetian Casino in Las Vegas Feb 20 – 24th. The second event will be held at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut April 7 – 11th. Two other dates are penciled in but details have yet to be released. Buy-in for both events is $5000.

Daniel Alaei outlasted his competition and took down his first WPT title at the WPT Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic (which even if you wanted to use an acronym would still be WPTDBFDWPC – wow, that’s a mouth full). Daniel takes home a cool $1,428,430 while his next best opponent, a name we haven’t heard in awhile, Josh Arieh ended up $952,290 richer for his efforts.
