The European Poker Tour crowned another champion, Carter Phillips, after the 20 year old internet whiz kid bested Marc Goodwin in a 3 hour heads-up match up. He went into the heads-up battle 8 million in chips better than Goodwin. Goodwin put up a great fight and threatened Phillips lead several times. However in the end it was never able to overcome his disadvantage and Phillips was able to finally capture the title when the last hand pitted the two in a hand where the flop and turn showed K54Q. Goodwin shoved all-in and Phillips called. KJ vs. Goodwin’s AT. The river was a brick and Phillips took his place as champion of the EPT Barcelona main event.

Full Tilt Poker is hosting a live tournament series in Spain. The first event took place in Madrid last month. It was a €1,500 + €150 event held at the Casino Gran Madrid in Torrelodones.
The remaining three events are still open for qualifiers on the Full Tilt site. Full Tilt is running a $100+$9 every Tuesday and Thursday at 2:15 EST which guarantees at least three $3K packages. There is an additional qualifier on Sunday (also at 2:15 EST) $200+$16 buy-in that guarantees four packages.
The dates for the remaining events are:
Event #2 – August 14th-18th, Casino Torrequebrada in Málaga, Spain.
€1,500 + €150, €150,000 Guaranteed.
Event #3 – October 2nd-4th, Gran Casino Barcelona in Barcelona, Spain.
€1,500 + €150, €150,000 Guaranteed.
Event #4 – Grand Final Main Event December 2nd-6th, Casino Gran Madrid in Torrelodones, Spain.
€3,000 + €300, €550,000 Guaranteed.
